All of our form based products have contained the ability to include reCaptcha in your forms to help prevent spam and bots. In an effort to keep things easy for our users, Yabdab used global keys in Formloom and Formsnap so the user did not need to. This worked great for many years, but things have changed a bit.
In early 2016 our global keys were compromised and needed to be deleted. This gave us the opportunity to implement the newer, and better, version 2 of reCaptcha. With the introduction of reCaptcha v.2 , Google no longer issued global keys to be used. This means that each user will need to obtain their own keys to be used with their websites.
We have updated both Formloom 3 and Formsnap 2 ( Stacks 3 version ) to take advantage of this new setup. Just follow the instructions below to get keys for your site(s) and enter them in the places provided by the 2 products.
Formloom 2 and FormSnap ( for Stacks 2 ) will not have these updates and therefore the use of reCaptcha will no longer be possible in those products. We recommend you update to current version of our products if you need reCaptcha in your forms.
How to Get Keys
- Got to https://www.google.com/recaptcha/admin and login to your Google Account. If you do not have a Google account, then you will need to register for one.
- Once logged in, find the form that looks like the one below and register the keys.
- Once your Keys are generated you will see a screen similar to the following. From here you just need to copy and paste the Site and Secret Key values into your Formloom 3 and FormSnap 2 settings.
